These Terms of Use apply to your use of wordletz.com (“the Site”) and the games on it. The Site is run by Qualitane (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who can use the Site
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian, who should read these terms with you.
2. Accounts
- You may create one account for yourself. The information you give must be accurate.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for anything done through your account.
- Your display name appears publicly on leaderboards. It must not be offensive, misleading, impersonate anyone, or include personal contact details.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing jebiz101@gmail.com.
3. Playing fairly
The games are for fun. When using the Site you must not:
- use bots, scripts, automated tools, solvers or any other means to play games, submit answers or post scores on your behalf;
- exploit bugs or errors to gain an advantage — please report them to us instead;
- interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or its data;
- copy, scrape or harvest the Site’s puzzles, word lists or other content in bulk;
- use the Site for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or offensive.
We may remove scores, reset leaderboards, or suspend or close accounts that we reasonably believe break these rules.
4. Scores and prizes
Scores, ranks and leaderboard positions are for entertainment only. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for anything, and do not entitle you to any prize unless we announce a specific competition with its own rules. Leaderboards may be changed or reset at any time.
5. Our content
The Site, its games, design, text and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You must not copy, reproduce, republish or sell any part of it without our written permission, except as allowed by law. The word lists used by our games are derived from SCOWL (wordlist.aspell.net) and are used under its licence.
6. Things you post
You are responsible for anything you post on the Site, such as your display name. By posting, you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on the Site. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
7. Advertising and other websites
The Site shows advertisements and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content, products or services of advertisers or other websites, and an advert or link does not mean we endorse it.
8. Availability and changes
The Site is provided free of charge. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any game or part of the Site at any time.
9. Our responsibility to you
The Site and its games are provided “as is” for entertainment. Puzzles and word lists may contain mistakes, and a word that seems valid to you may not be accepted (or the reverse).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, including your rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, for any business losses (the Site is for personal, non-commercial use), or for damage to your device or data caused by content you download from other websites.
10. Privacy
How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Site or the law. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed. Please check back regularly; continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
